Best Oahu Beaches
Diamond Head Cliffs
- Small sandy beach running along the base of the cliffs at Diamond Head
- Generally not crowded on the beach
- Park on the street and walk down the paved trail
- Showers at the base of the trail on the beach, no rest rooms
- This beach is very exposed and on windy days not the best bet but on a calm day it is the most secluded beach within minutes of Waikiki
Sandy's Beach
- Located a few minutes past the Halona Blow Hole
- This is an extremely dangerous beach to swim at due to the waves crashing on the beach
- Because the waves crash right next to shore it is very entertaining to watch experienced body surfers and boogie boarders ride these dangerous waves
- Showers and rest rooms are available
- Often the Wahoo's Fish Taco truck is in the parking lot selling great Mexican food
- Be cautious and speak to a lifeguard before entering the water at this beach.
- Plenty of parking.
Halona Blow Hole
- Just past Hanauma Bay is this secluded tiny beach.
- From the lookout you can watch as a lava tube sends water from waves high into the air
- Parking can be difficult on weekends or holidays
- A small beach is located just below the blow hole (to the right if you are looking at the ocean.)
- This is the beach from the film "From Here to Eternity" and is commonly called eternity beach.
- Be cautious when swimming at this beach when there is large surf, stay close to shore.
- No rest rooms or showers at this beach.
Lanikai Beach
- One of the top 10 beaches in the world
- White sand and turquoise water
- Calm with minimal waves
- No lifeguard on duty, no rest rooms or showers
- Parking can be difficult on weekends and holidays
Makapu'u Beach
